Accommodation

SLTC’s official accommodation service is called the ‘HUB’. Initiated and introduced in 2018 the Hub provides accommodation to all full time undergraduates who choose to live the on-campus university experience. Residing at the HUB enables its residents not only to engage in their academic and research work without a time bound hindrance it also allows them to network,develop lifelong friendships, engage in sports and other recreational activities which SLTC believes to form an important part of a holistic undergraduate experience.

Phase 01 of HUB signifies the opening of the first ever ‘in-campus residential hostel of this nature, built at a corporate backed higher educational institute, in Sri Lanka. In addition to fully furnished rooms with a capacity for 400 students, study spaces, multi-purpose areas, the building presents many other attractive facilities to the students. All residents of the Hub are given access to its facilities including the use of the common areas, kitchens and laundry services . Wifi is also provided throughout the Hub. The university cafeteria caters all three meals with a variety of menus to choose from.

The dorms can be reserved on a two sharing or four sharing basis. Students can apply for accommodation services as they register for their respective programmes or later through the respective student affairs officers.

Types of Rooms within the HUB

In-house accommodation (THE HUB) consists of two types of rooms.

  • 1/Two sharing Bedrooms
  • 2/Four sharing Bedrooms

Both type of rooms consists of following items for each occupant

  • Bed
  • Wardrobe
  • Book rack
  • Study table
  • Chair

Types of Accommodation

We do provide two types of accommodation facilities, which a student could select from

  • In-house accommodation (THE HUB)
  • Private sector accommodation - Registered suppliers who provide house on rent on request with all facilities in close proximity to the university.

How to Choose

Students will be advised to apply for student accommodation services at the point of registration, after a formal application is lodged. When applying you could select the type of accommodation, as well as the type of room, and even the room-mate with whom you prefer to share the room. Registrar’s office will guide you in selecting the most suited option depending on specific circumstances of students

Our Promise to you

As much as we have taken all steps to provide excellent facilities for our students, we are equally thoughtful of safety and security of the students within the campus premises. A Marshal is on 24-hour duty, and will be committed towards maintaining student security, as well as the perimeter security. Also our Male and Female Wardens are available at the HUB at any given time to attend to student needs, emergencies, etc. Students are very well guided to obey a set of rules and regulations within the HUB to maintain discipline at the accommodation facility
