Pharmaceutical technology and Pharmaceutical scientific research to practise in pharmaceutical, herbal,
cosmetic drug development industry by planning, designing, developing, manufacturing, storing and packaging.
This course will focus to have pioneers in production, regulatory and supervisory/ managerial staff in
managing fundamental and applied aspects of Good Manufacturing Practice, relevant core science and production
Successful completion of the proposed HND , SLQF level 4 can open pathway for obtaining a bachelor’s degree,
SLQF level 5 in this area of study will allow a student to enter the workforce in various sectors of the
commercial drug industry.
Students can have lateral exit points at HND completion and seek for job opportunities in pharmaceutical
industry as research officers, industrial technician,, cosmetic drug technician. Completion of the four year
bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical Sciences can expect to find employment at many levels of the industry.
Pharmaceutical Sciences has applications at all stages of the process of new drugs becoming available to the
public in this developing area in Sri Lanka. Qualified professionals participate in western, herbal and
cosmetic drug and drug production, drug and drug product research and development, stakeholders in clinical
